MILLENNIUM PRIZE PHOTOGRAPHER
New York, Portland, San Francisco, Kyoto, and Osaka… I’m happy to tell you that I have just returned to Helsinki from my very first world tour. For the last weeks I have been photographing a really interesting project for TAF, Technology Academy Finland. TAF is an independent foundation established by Finnish industry together with the Finnish state. Every second year this foundation hands out the Millennium Technology Prize, that is Finland’s tribute to life-enhancing technological innovations. The size of the award is pretty much in the same level as the Nobel prize. The winner gets a lots of honour + one million dollars.
Unfortunately I have to admit that I didn’t get nominated for this scientific prize. But I was the one who travelled literally around the world to take the official photos of the laureates for the prize. So for me last weeks have been super hectic but also a lot of fun. It has also offered me some wonderful discussions with geniuses like Linus Torvalds, Shinya Yamanaka, Deepak Srivastava, Mark Charlebois, Greg Kroah-Hartman, and Jim Zemlin. I was also fortunate to see all those beautiful cherrry blossoms in Japan and visit really interesting places like Gladstone Institute, San Francisco and CiRA, Kyoto.
Now, just some moments ago, TAF has announced the laureates for the Millenium Prize 2012. So do yourself a favour: go and check out some mindblowing ideas from their WEBSITE.

FROM WDC TO MJ
Stop the press! Helsinki is the World Design Capital of the year 2012!!! …OK, I see… You knew that already. Wait a second, don’t stop reading, I will come up with even better news. What about this one: Elvis is dead! It’s true, but don’t be sad because the good news is that Michael Jackson is still alive! Yep, at least here in Helsinki. …Or at least Michael-Jan lives here in Helsinki. He is a wonderful guy that has dressed like a Michael Jackson for almost three years now. Every single day.
Michael was one of the music lovers I shooted for Kiasma – Museum of Contemporary Art. This small photo series included both Finnish music artists and fans who wanted to thank their own idols. The pictures are published widely in Finnish magazines to promote Kiasma’s new exhibition Thank you for the Music.
I’m really happy about the photo series and so were the people from Kiasma. But I’m even happier to tell you that I have now also started a documentary photo project with Michael. And I bet that it’s going to be another BIG ONE. There are also several other interesting Art & Commercial projects going on right now so I’m delighted to say that this is probably going to be the best year so far in Korea’s history. I will update new photos & stuff online asap.
After Saturday this week I will be out of office and out of Finland for two weeks for a photo assignment. I will be back in Helsinki after April 16th.
See you around, Peki

TATTIS, TACK AND THANKS!
Greetings from Gloria Hall in Helsinki. The Finnish Press Photographers’ Association is hosting The Picture of the Year gala here right tonight.
I’m happy to tell you that they have just chosen my picture above as the second best portrait photo taken here in Finland last year. Tattis, Tack and Thanks! This is especially good news if you think about the photo as part of of my Finnish Teens series originally published at my solo art exhibition at the Finnish Museum of Photography.
I love the idea that these weird and unnatural boundaries between different fields of photography (and communications and art in general) finally seems to be vanishing. In my eyes the most interesting stuff has always taken place in the borderlines between different worlds. If this would be my Oscar speech I would add that we all win if we can keep our eyes, minds and hearts open. But it’s not, so I will just end up my silver monologue with the quote from my 4-year-old daughter “This is only the first part of our journey, we have already started to build the space rocket.”
Cheers, Peki

YLPPÖ
Peki has shot tons of great photos for musician Herra Ylppö and his band Ihmiset. Their next album is titled Mies ja nainen and it will be published by Sony Music Finland. It’s definitely the best Herra Ylppö & Ihmiset album so far and for us it sounds like a dark and twisted version of Olavi Virta. This longing from the old traditional Finnish schlager music combined with a darken emptines can be found in Sinikoski’s photos for this album. The album is going to be published on January 18th 2012.
You can find the more picture’s on Korea’s first page. The picture above has been used in the album booklet. It has also been published as the cover of latest Soundi magazine.
Peki made also his first music video for Herra Ylppö together with maestro himself. Enjoy! Video is at the moment on #2 in Voice’s (Finnish Music Television) top10 chart so not too bad for the Peki’s first music video ever.

More information about Ylppö can be found HERE

NEW NEWS ETC.
Oops, we are on the loop! There are two photographers working at Superkasi Studios. In the latest issue of Image magazine Juliana photographed some other photographers from Finland and now for the next issue I have photographed the photographer who photographed the other photographers. And after that Juliana will probably photograph the photographer who photoraphed the photographer who photographed the photographers… or something. Anyway, here’s her portrait. Even though if it’s sometimes not the easiest task to take the portrait of another photographer we both were really happy with the result.
During the last months I have been working with super many interesting projects for clients like Lufthansa Magazine, MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology/Technology Review, Sony Music Finland and Le Monde. I have also had some larger photo projects going on that will be released in the beginning of next year so stay tuned for the major update!
Besides all this action I have managed to find some time even for having presentations and idealogues at different events and forums. I was also really enjoying to teach in the documentary/contact photography course in the Photo School of Muurla. (And enjoying even more to receive some ridiculously positive feedback after the course via email directly from the students.) Yep, I really think that the more you give the more you get. – That’s simply how it goes!
From Helsinki with love, Peki

JUICY
This is my very own Biggie Smalls post. A post that I’m forced to start with a bit of twisted quote: “It was all a dream. I used to read Photo Raw magazine… ”
Photo Raw magazine has a clear vision. It’s exploring photography from all around the world: documentary, photojournalism and art. It wants to be a voice of all photographers and show the most interesting photo projects from all over. During the last four years it has become the magazine that propably all the professional photographers and photo lovers are subscribing here in Finland. Besides that the magazine has a growing fan base all over the globe.
During all these years Photo Raw has shown me amazingly great photos and mind blowing projects. Many times that damn magazine has made me almost frustrated. “How the heck can all these people take so much better pictures than me?”
You can just imagine how I felt when the Photo Raw contacted me to make a cover story of my Finnish Teens photo series. They wanted to publish a photo by me as the cover and to publish a 29 pictures portfolio of my pictures!!!
So, do yourself a favor and let your feet guide you to the closest magazine stand to buy The Juicy Photo Raw #15.

SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT
Helsingin Sanomat wasn’t the only newspaper that has been writing about the Finnish Teens exhibition. Actually it looks like there has been articles and news about it all over the country. At least Hufvudstadsbladet, Turun Sanomat, Keskipohjanmaa, Hämeen Sanomat, Kaleva, Ilkka, Pohjalainen, Demari, Savon Sanomat, Karjalainen, Kotivinkki, and Ylioppilaslehti has published an article about the exhibition. Besides that there has been news about the exhibition in many web magazines and blogs like YLE, Suosikki, Nelonen, City, Finnguide, Luksusblog, Sateenkaarimaalari and This is Finland.
If you have noticed any stories pulished in any other media than mentioned above it would be great if you could drop me an email about it.
Cheers, Peki

SINIKOSKI + RADIO x 2
Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE’s Radio1 has one of my favorite radio programs called Kultakuume. It’s a superb culture program and I got the honour to be interviewed for it by Kai Ristola. You can listen the interview HERE
Also the small nice underground radio called Lähiradio asked me to visit their culture program Aspe & Co. So if you want to listen to almost 45 minutes of me speaking, you can find the clip HERE. But I have to warn you, That’s a lot of speaking – but with some good tunes included as well.

BEAUTIFUL EVENING!
Thanks to all the opening guests who made their way to my exhibition opening through the autumn storm. It was really fun to see that also the Finnish Minister of Culture and Sport, Paavo Arhinmäki honored the opening at the Finnish Museum of Photography. –What a beautiful evening!
If you didn’t have a chance to visit the opening, don’t worry, the exhibition is still open until October 16th 2011.

FINNISH TEENS + HELSINGIN SANOMAT
Good news! Finnish Teens exhibition hasn’t even started yet and Helsingin Sanomat (the largest subscription newspaper in Nordic countries) already made a half page article of it in their Sunday section. So if you missed the yesterday’s news you might find a treasure in your closest paper recycle bin.
Oh boy! You do not want to get your hands dirty? Yes I knew it, and you are not too enthusiasted to dig your neighbours trashes either. That’s why I scanned the arcticle. You can find it HERE.
All the best, Peki

AUTUMN IS HERE…
Autumn is here… YEP, but don’t be too horrified because the good news is that there is only one week left before the Finnish Teens’ exhibition opening. It’s going to be the BIG one, so if you are alive and in Helsinki – do not miss the opening at Finnish Museum of Photography, September 13th at 5–7 pm. Exhibition will be open until October 16th. For more information, please check: http://www.valokuvataiteenmuseo.fi/en
And just to make sure, our life here in the palace of Korea is not just art: We are happy to tell you that Peki has once again worked on plenty of great commercial projects as well. Besides that we can tell you that he has got flattering feedback from both his old and new clients. We will give you more information on these projects in the near future on Korea’s Blog but at this point we will leave you with the quote from one of our new clients. Like many of Korea’s friends the photo editor of the legendary German Stern Magazin seems to appreciate both the style and quality of Peki’s work. “Excellent picture, congratulation! — I’m really satisfied with your work.”
Jepulis, autumn is here but that’s not such a bad thing after all.

KOREA x FELLOWLAND
There is a new creative office in town. Five highly talented guys (background in Valve, Las Palmas etc.) have just started Fellowland, a creative office. They contacted Korea’s finest Peki Sinikoski to make photos for their promotion and communication needs. They wanted to have photos full of action and testosterone. Their idea was to have photos that would be kind of iconic but also self-ironic. One of their thoughts was photos that shows them as a tight group – almost like a band.
Peki started to create a photo concept based on these ideas. The result was some mind-blowing photos showing a mysterious special unit arriving from the middle of the sea carrying a chair, desk and other office equipment with them to ground their office in the middle of the wilderness. The concept included the ideas listed by the guys from Fellowland, but with some extra flavors added on the top of the cake. Photos also played fantastically with the idea of the so called mobile office with kind of crazy twist of sisu (Finnish term loosely translated into English as strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity).
The guys really liked the idea and they simply loved the final images. The whole thing was shot in the Finnish archipelago in the early spring and guys were forced to stay long periods in the 6°C cold water. “In the photos we wanted to use old cool looking dry suits. They looked super nice but unfortunately they leaked cold water inside. So half of the whole day photo session guys were swimming in the ice cold water and the rest of the session they were carrying heavy desk over the rocks and hills. I can promise you that if these guys are ready to give that much effort for their clients as they did on shooting that day, they are going to have a bright future”, laughed Peki afterward.
Rumours tell that also Mr. Sinikoski himself was standing in the middle of sea wearing only his undies, beanie and digital Hasselblad. Sometimes that’s exactly what it takes to find the perfect angle for the photos.

Helsingin Sanomat, the largest subscription newspaper in Nordic countries has a weekly magazine called Nyt-liite. In today’s issue Peki’s photos of Finnish Teens has been pointed out as a gem of MoA 2011 exhibition. We totally agree and want to remind you that if you did miss this exhibition, make sure to see his forthcoming exhibition in the Finnish Museum of Photography in September.

The only exception is taken from Master Yoda.

NEW METHOD & STEVEN ELOP

Hello my friends! We have just invented an incredible working method that we are now happy to share with you. Our all future projects are from now on based on the revolutionary Korea’s STSDESFGSMEHSGVTSGPGSHCMUSHT® method that changes everything. Again. It just works. It’s like tiger unleashed.
And if you haven’t figured it out on your own, the method’s name is based on it’s original version: Super Talented Super Dad Eating Super Food to Get Super Much Energy to Have Super Good Vibes to Take Super Good Photos to Get Super Happy Customers that Make Us Super Happy Too.
If you are an old friend of Korea you might know that we haven’t been too active to publish tearsheets of our projects, but because we just got this one all the way from Canada we are going to make an exception.
This one is from one of the latest Canadian Business Magazine. They made an article of “Canada’s own boy” Nokia’s CEO Mr. Steven Elop. Photos for the article was taken by your Korea’s finest Aki-Pekka Sinikoski. The client loved the photos and trusts us, that’s what they do. Thanks to our patented STSDESFGSMEHSGVTSGPGSHCMUSHT® method.

NEW ALBUM!
Today the new album of Jarkko Martikainen has been released. It is titled ‘Usko’ which means faith in Finnish. Usko is also an old traditional male name in Finnish.
The picture concept of the album was created by me together with Jarkko, and graphic designer Jussi S. Karjalainen. It’s a visual story about an artist living by himself and thinking about faith and his relationship to religions. The photos of the album is showing how this man is building his own wooden poorboy (vaivaisukko) called Usko. The artist is starting to live his life together with this little wooden man.
These wooden poorboys have traditionally standed outside of churches to collect money for the sick and poor people. This wooden poorboy in the pictures was actually builded by Jarkko Martikainen himself.
The new album is excellent and I strongly recommend you to get it as a really beautiful limited deluxe version that includes not only a CD and a DVD, but also hell of a lot of great pictures taken by me.
All the best, Peki

At least it crowded the dancefloor here in the the palace of Korea. If you want to get this 5 euros gem, be sure to be quick and contact your personal dealer monsieur Per Dein. More info: HERE

ALBUM ART WORKS FOR SAMAE KOSKINEN
A lot of great projects in the pipeline right now. Magazine covers, four album art works (including covers), portraits of and for different business leaders, marketing photos for different companies etc. I’m also happy to announce that I will take part in the MoA 2011 exhibition taking place in Helsinki at May 12th-29th.
Samae Koskinen‘s new album Kuuluuko, kuuntelen has been released today. I did the album art work for it together with 2–5 years old kids. My consept for the album was simple but great: To use the one and same photo for every cd single, cd album, and the vinyl – but to make the expression for all these covers totally different with the help of children’s drawings on top of the photo. Technically this was made in good old school way: Big black and white photo prints painted over with oil crayons by several very young artists. Graphic design for the album was made by Jussi S. Karjalainen from my Super8 Studio.
You can find the album art works for the CD and vinyl versions on the top. Below you will find the video sampler with all of these images. Check out iTunes for the deluxe digital version of the album with the digital booklet. Btw, Samae’s album is excellent!
Yours, Peki

CAMERA, LIGHT HOUSE, ACTION!
Good books, long walks by the sea shore, and the loved ones around you. O’boy! I always surprise myself with realizing what a good investment a long holiday is to onerself. Now I’m so entusiastic, full of energy and ready for new adventures.
Two weeks ago I was shooting photos for one of my forthcoming art project in Denmark. I was fortuned to travel there together with my family so it didn’t feel like working at all. We were playing together with my daughter on the snow covered beaches, spotting the lighthouses and really enjoying the cold winds blowing from sea and filling our lungs with fresh air and our heads with new ideas.
Even that I might sound naive I have to admit something. I really, trully love photographing. Sometimes when I’m busy with hundreds of different kind of projects, I forget to say it outloud. But here we go: I love photographing! It was crystalized to me during the holiday; finding myself standing in the ice cold water in Denmark just to capture the perfect image.
So, now I’m back in Helsinki and ready for the action. Waiting eagerly on what year 2011 will bring us. I have updated my web portfolio so please do yourself a favor and reserve a small break from everything else, grab a good cup of coffee, lift your feet on the table and enjoy the great new photos I have uploaded for you.
Cheers, Peki
P.S. A couple of months ago I was shooting an advertisement for Genelec together with the guys from Look Mama + Las Palmas in co-operation with N2. We did the advertisement with living legends Michael Monroe and Sam Yaffa. You can find the still picture for the ad in my portfolio. HERE you can find the video with the some behind the scene clips of the actual photo shooting.

EXPECT 2011 TO BE EVEN BETTER!
Peki a.k.a. Aki-Pekka Sinikoski is represented in the States by the Wonderful Machine. The people working there for him are huge fans of great photos and it has been really nice for him to be represented by the people who truly love his pictures. And guess what, the last two months of 2010 was fully booked already by the end of October so it seems that also his clients love his photos.
Year 2010 was superb for the citizens of Korea. We really managde to extend our client base. We did wonderful job with clients like The New Yorker, Veikkaus, Telia Sonera, Ruukki, Global Blue, Universal Music, Suunto, Sanoma Magazines, Aalto University and Polyvinyl Records. But of course we didn’t forget our old loyal clients either. For example during the last six months of the year Peki shooted four covers + cover stories for Suosikki, which is the biggest youth magazine in Scandinavia. It is also a client who has been using Peki’s photographic skills for more than 10 years now. That’s what we call a loyal customer relationship!
Suosikki made a cover story about juvenile delinquents trying to make their way back from the shadows to the brighter side of society. Suosikki ended up running a close up photo of one of these guys as a whole page opening photo for the story. On the cover shot the same guy was arrested by the cops. Afterwards Peki got feedback from the magazine, its readers, and even from his collegues that these were “great images with a strong emotional feeling”.
Technical qualities like good light and composition can make a good photo but if you are looking for a great one – it’s not enough. Like Mark Murrmann, photo editor at Mother Jones, puts it “What makes a great photo is an image that not only conveys some kind of information, but also works on an emotional level. It can be punch-you-in-the-gut direct, it can be more subtle, something that pulls you in slowly and allows you to wander around the image, keep coming back to it even if you aren’t sure why; it can be funny, witty, wry; it can be something that elicits a feeling of remembrance, something that reminds you of your own life; it can be horrifying, or gratifying. But it has to do something; it has to connect with the viewer.”
Most of Peki’s clients want to make their voice visual and they want their voice to be heard. They contact him because they are chasing great photos that stands out from the constantly growing flood of photographs. Even though we might sound like American TV Shop: It doesn’t matter if you don’t know what kind of photo are great for your business. It’s enough that you know that you need the great photos and you know where to get them. And hey, you should know it by now. Baby, welcome to Korea!
P.S. Peki is still shooting somewhere in Denmark, but don’t worry – he will be back next week so more truly great photos is available really soon.

SOLO EXHIBITION IN FINNISH MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Good news my friends! I have just signed a contract for a solo exhibition at the Finnish Museum of Photography. It will take place in September 2011. I’m really happy that I got a chance to exhibit my works in the greatest photography arena in Finland. Still almost one year to go but hey, I have to warn you: This is going to be the BIG one!
All the best, Peki

BACK IN HELSINKI, BACK IN BUSINESS, AND BACK IN BED!
Sleep, honey, c-vitamin, chicken soup and fairy tales about dragons. I’m at home with my daughter trying to help her to beat the flu. She just started to build a hut in our bed for her imaginery friend, a dog called Tapi. Pretty good signs that we can soon say au revoir to snot, coughing and fever.
Autumn has arrived not only with my daughter’s flu from kindergarden but also with coloful leaves and many great photo projects. I have just finished some shootings for companies like TeliaSonera, Ruukki and Global Blue. Next stop will be to shoot images for the visual identity of B-open Art Festival in Bergen, Norway.
Feels great to be back in Helsinki!
Cheers, Peki

I LOVE YOU! YOU ARE THE BEST AUDIENCE EVER!
What a gig at Forbidden City in Peking. All these wonderfull people came over just to see me perform… or not really… But I defenetly had one of the most bizarre shootings ever in Forbidden City with lovely rock band Stalingrad Cowgirls from Finland. It felt really quite weard to suddenly realize that there was a hell of a lot more people behind the camera than in front of the camera. Actually there was people lining to see our photo shooting! Only in Asia!
The shooting was a blast and so were Riina, Henna and Enni. We did even more photos back in Helsinki. The photo below ended up as the cover of Suosikki magazine.
Yours, Peki

KING PEKI BACK FROM PEKING
Perfect night. Drinking coffee in the sunset by the sea after chilling the whole day with my family in the Finnish archipelago. Last months have been pretty hectic, but to be honest
– I like it that way.
I just got back from Peking where I photographed Finnish rock band Stalingrad Cowgirls. At this point I can’t really tell you more about this project except that we had super fun. You’re going to love the photos as soon I’m able to show them for you.
Actually I can promise you that Korea will soon bless you with an update with even more new pictures that will steal your heart. That’s because there is so many great projects going on right now for clients like Universal Music Finland, Suunto, Helsingin Sanomat, Palloliitto, Suosikki and ImageMaker.
I’m also happy to tell you that from now on I am represented in the US by Wonderful Machine.
Cheers, Aki-Pekka Sinikoski

TWENTY TEN
Greetings from the palace of Korea. We do not have wasps here, nor ants or mosquitoes either. Only buzy bumblebees buzzing in the Finnish winter wonderland ready to serve you the sweetest honey.
We are super excited about the new decade. We are sure year Twenty Ten is going to offer us fantastic new adventures plus a lot of opportunities and greatness. The last months have been the busiest in Korea’s history. That means hell of a lot interesting shootings including some of the best works we have done. Future looks even brighter!
Definitely a nice thing was that legendary The New Yorker Magazine wanted to buy Aki-Peki’s photo of pop star Annie for their January 11th 2010 issue. You can find the exclusive photo and Sasha Frere-Jones’ great article here.
Before the X-mas snowstorms Peki also shot cover + all booklet pictures in Berlin for the forthcoming Casiokids album. Double CD will be released together with 26 pages booklet including more than 30 Sinikoski’s picture. Graphic design for the CD is made by Petri Henriksson/Blank Blank. Album will be released first in Norway and after that at least in the UK and USA. We will post Casiokids’ photos as soon as the record hits the store.
Meanwhile, check out our galleries. There is plenty of new stuff including marketing photos Peki took for Helsingin Sanomat. Helsingin Sanomat will use these photos mostly as a part of their B-to-B marketing in prints, products, and presentation slideshows (example below). Photos are made in co-operation with Family Inc Advertising Agency. We were super happy to make the client’s voice visible and even happier to hear that “the final result was exactly what they wanted and even so much more than we could even ask for.”
Happy new decade folks! May it be colourful & sweet!

BORTA BRA
At the end of last year Peki and Matti from Superkasi created the DIY Swedish Karaoke Video called Borta Bra. It was a part of Superkasi’s pavilion of Hidden War Treasures from Sweden. Now we have been asked (even by Swedes) to put this video online. So here we go. Next summer’s Paskalista hit already here. For your eyes only.
P.S. At the end of last year Peki arranged and curated Helsinki Biennale at the Finnish Design Museum. Finally we have got statistics concerning Helsinki Biennale from the museum. Design Museum was visited by 25.340 persons during the exhibition time. To be honest: here in Finland it is a shit lot of people.

Peki is in the middle of something BIG. During the summer he has worked really hard with his forthcoming book project. Here in the palace of Korea we have already seen many of these pix and we can already now promise that this shit is hot! It will blow your eyes out of their orbits!
To still keep your eyes rolling we have decided not to spoil you with sneak previews. At this point we will give Peki full freedom to work in a complete radio silence before the time is right for releasing the hurricane.
That doesn’t mean we haven’t updated new pix for you from other current projects. Earlier this year Peki took some photos for Annie’s 12″ Anthonio. Annie liked those photos so much that she wanted to have another photo session with Peki. Some of these new photos will be used on her new album sleeve, the rest as promo photos. But for you we will give a super exclusive DIY robot scenario.
Lately Peki has also been a guest speaker at several schools and once again had photo sessions for ST1, Suosikki (a lot of pictures including another new cover photo), Aalto University, Equens, and Total Identity. Besides that he has worked in three other projects for studios located in Helsinki, Berlin, and Hong Kong. Hopefully we can tell you more about these ones soon.

TO PETRI
Light hits only the surface. That makes it so hard to find the hiding words. Time doesn’t stop and I’m sitting in the drifting reality between all these flowers and my daughter.
I’m proud that we were always two. Side by side. Brothers. Loving each other and sharing things. I can’t put my arm on your shoulder anymore but you are still with me. Every day. For that I’m grateful.

VIVA LA VIDA LOCAL
Horrible terrible black suit, an opera hat, and dark circles under his eyes. The King of Korea Peki is back from San Francisco. He came back to offer some peanut butter candies for his mother and some visual goodies for you.
Your local visual dealer has updated new pics online. –Good shit world wide! Beautiful landscape photos and brilliant portraits of Finnish teens, Regina, Danko Jones, Happoradio, Redrama, Annie, and McG, the director of new Terminator Salvation movie.
You can also spot Peki’s picture with Jukka Duudson on the cover of latest Suosikki magazine. Peki has also taken promo photos for the new season of TV-series Huvila and Huussi. There has also been a lot of great photos for other clients too like Aalto University and ST1. For St1 he worked in co-operation with Imagemaker to promote ST1′s super great innovation that turns waste and sidestreams into bioethanol in small local units.

BAMA LAMA BAMA LOU!
We have started this year with plenty of great projects. Peki just came back from Berlin where he was having a photo session with Norwegian Annie for her forthcoming 12″ release. Covers are going to be made by the same duo behind the visual identity of Helsinki Biennale, Petri Henriksson and Aki-Pekka Sinikoski. Here is a raw sneak peak from the photo session.

NEW WEBPAGE! NEW YEAR! NEW BEGINNING?
O’boy, new year, New Delhi, and… new webpage! Needless to say, a lot of new goodies and visual hooks available. So enjoy! And then we have this thing called year 2009! What should I say: Uh… Work out… Plenty of rest… You know, eat your green vegetables… Seriously I thing it’s going to be hard times for many people. But still, for some reason, I feel carefully optimistic. Propably 2009 will be the end of the era of bling bling. The end of one chapter will also be the beginning of a new one. Propably there are a million things that people and companies have to re-think.
Throughout history, hard times has often worked like composts. During the last years we have just dumped everything. Now we are living the period when all of these rotten structures start to stink. I hope that all this waste has soon turned into green gold. At least I hope this ground will seed new ideas, new phenomens, new ways to think and act for a better future… Yep! At least I hope so. Anyway, we are not going to slow down. Actually we are just about to run like Paavo Nurmi. We are having a lot of great projects going on and 2009 will propably be our busiest year ever!

VISUAL IDENTITY FOR HELSINKI BIENNALE
Last months Peki has worked hard for organizing and curating Helsinki Biennale. He has also worked with visuals for the biennale together with Petri Henriksson. Here you can find some examples of the visual identity they made together. By the way: the t-shirts were pretty cool not only because they looked great but also because they were made with a minimal environmental footprint. Helsinki Biennale’s limited edition t-shirts have been printed on EarthPositive = Organic cotton + ethically traded clothes + carbon neutral manufacturing. HEI, HI & MOI!
If sleep is new black we are wearing all white! Peki actually wrote that on Helsinki Biennale’s website sometimes in July and now we have to say that damn, he’s a prophet! The last months we have been working like three Esaus! Royal family of Korea is doing it with style. Jessica is back from maternity leave and she is working for YLE with Pink Eminence to produce massive Kulttuurikunto -project in Swedish. Isla is learning to walk and talk. Peki has been working hard for Helsinki Biennale. It is going to be a World Fair taking place in Design Museum. It is curated and organized by him with more than 150 artist involved. He has also been working with a project called Artnet. These both invisible projects that you haven’t been enable to see are soon right in front of your eyes. The Helsinki Biennale opening is 24th October 6 p.m. Artnet will be launched 30th October 6 p.m. Peki has also been doing a lot of great photo projects. To pick up our favorite ones he has taken promotional photos for Metronome Film & Television Company, for the new Rajaton album cover and for Raivio & Kulju’s exhibitions in London and Liverpool. He also made the portrait of Helena Hyvönen, the new rector of Universiy of Art and Design Helsinki. There has also been many photo sessions in the music business (e.g. Apulanta, Lordi, Von Hetzen Brothers…) and some projects in fashion industry and some projects in the field of art… we will upload those photos on the webpage after Helsinki Biennale’s opening. By the way, as a friend of Korea, you are of course invited to the opening. Check out more: www.helsinkibiennale.com
